The chapter brings students, researchers, and industry practitioners together around signal processing and the practical challenges of putting AI systems into use. All interested parties are welcome at our programs and events.
This year: the AI Systems and Practitioner Engagement pilot
The chapter is launching a six-month pilot, the SPS AI Systems and Practitioner Engagement Track — San Diego Pilot (October 2026 to March 2027), with funding approved by the IEEE Signal Processing Society Member Driven Initiative.
The pilot combines hands-on workshops, optional self-paced learning, and practitioner discussions. It was proposed by Vice Chair Chhavi Jain, who leads the program with support from chapter officers and collaborators.
