Collaboration
Program leadership and community support
Proposed and led by Vice Chair Chhavi Jain, the chapter’s six-month AI workshop program connects students, researchers, and practitioners through hands-on learning and technical exchange.
The AI systems pilot received $3,500 in funding approval from the IEEE Signal Processing Society Member Driven Initiative in August 2026.
The chapter thanks Chhavi Jain for her leadership in program planning, workshop coordination, and connecting the program with practitioners and the startup community. It also thanks Dr. Lina J. Karam for supporting the initiative’s development, and Chair Upal Mahbub and Vice Chair Somsubhra Barik for their support in planning and organizing chapter activities.
In collaboration with its partner Live AI Dream, the chapter looks forward to offering the community an engaging and rewarding learning experience. All AI workshop coursework, instructional materials, AI tools, the learning platform, and the supporting course website are provided by Live AI Dream. The chapter organizes the program and its community activities.
Live AI Dream also provides access to the library of more than 1,200 AI projects on aionedge.org, each with a dedicated page providing a detailed explanation of the project.
Through Chhavi Jain’s mentoring connections, founders from the UC San Diego startup community have been invited to share their experiences with participants.
